Michigan Education Corps is an AmeriCorps program that serves students age three through grade eight, ensuring each one has a chance to succeed. We do this because the facts don’t lie—if a student is proficient in reading and math, the future looks a whole lot brighter for them.

Since 2012, AmeriCorps reading and math tutors, referred to as interventionists, have served over 23,000 Michigan children.

Reading Corps

Reading Corps, our most extensive program, places AmeriCorps members in schools to support children in kindergarten through third grade by developing their reading skills.

The interventionist uses scripted, evidence-based literacy strategies and interventions to ensure each student is on track to read at grade level.
